Grr still makes me angry being reminded of South Melbourne and Fitzroys demise all these years later and the formation of the AFL, whats more dissapointing is how the supporters sat back and watched it happen and did nothing to preserve the history and tradition of the VFL, i dont watch the football anymore and would now prefer to see local teams and competitions promoted I think the AFL now needs a 2nd division and a relegation sytem implimented that would make the game more interesting.

thats not right. if your 20, and you were 6 when fitzroy mereged, then then you would have been born in 1990. if your twenty, then that means, you would have been born in 1988. fail

they had quite alot of supporters i was and still am a fitzroy supporter and so is my mum and i'm 20 and they merged with brisbane in 96 when i was 6 years old but it was more of a take-over then a merge to me
